Prayers for others

Robert Va’ai, member of the Pitt Street congregation

Almighty God of Creation, who is the God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow until Eternity, we bring before You our Prayers for the World which You have created.

We are constantly being reminded that there are Families, men, women and children that are not as fortunate as ourselves. They constantly live in fear, injustice, uncertainty, pain, poverty and the massive unnecessary loss of lives. Their Lives and livelihood has been disrupted and devastated by political and economic values and the action of others.

Almighty God, please provide encouragement and the resources to the Leaders of all the nations, as well as all the men and women who are striving to achieve peace and reconciliation and the well-being of all the people that are within these troubled countries.

We pray for all the countries that have been devastated by numerous natural disasters: those countries in Asia, South America, the Middle east, Africa, Europe and the Pacific. We pray for all of the people of Vanuatu, Tonga and Fiji who have been devastated by the recent Hurricane.

We especially pray for all of the countries throughout the world, where their populations’ lives and livelihoods and their economies have been greatly decimated and devastated by the COVID-19 Virus. We pray that You, Almighty God, would provide healing for all who have been affected by this virus, that You will also comfort all those who mourn the loss of their Loved ones through this Virus. Almighty God, please grant to all of the doctors, nurses, researchers and scientists Your knowledge, courage and strength to assist them in their work to provide medical care for everyone who are in desperate need as well as finding a vaccine to totally eliminate the virus.

Gracious God of Creation, we pray for our community of faith, especially our Auckland Central Parish, our Presbyters, all those who have committed themselves to serve your Church and its congregations in various roles and responsibilities.

We sincerely and strongly pray for all of the women and children who are living in violent and abusive relationships and homes. Please Lord, protect and safeguard them from further harm.

We pray O Lord for the unemployed and the homeless, as well as the numerous families that are finding it quite difficult to provide the necessities of life.

We also pray to You O Lord for all those who are in hospitals, especially the terminally ill, we pray and remember those who are in prison.

We especially pray for all of the members of our Pitt St. congregation as well as the congregations of the Kingsland, Mt. Eden and Epsom Churches. We pray for Your guidance, knowledge, courage and patience that we may all cope with the numerous issues and concerns that are with us all presently.

Let us all remember in our prayers all those who are near and dear to us, as well as our Neighbours.

Almighty God of Grace, Peace and Mercy, these are our prayers and all of the unspoken prayers of our hearts that we pray to You in and through the name of Your gracious son Jesus Christ, who is our Lord and Saviour.

Our Father in Heaven,
Holy be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done
on Earth as in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins.
As we forgive those that sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial.

And deliver us from evil
for the kingdom, the power and the glory
shall be yours now and forever.

Amen, amen, amen, amen;
Amen, amen, amen, amen.
