Our Prayers for others

Ian and Sonia

Father and Mother of lights,

with who there is no shadow,

we pray yet again for the world of your making:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

For those born in hopelessness

without parental love

or the provision of basic human needs:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

For those raised in poverty

often unprotected from disease,

or those unable to afford basic health care:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

For those scarred by wars

and consumed by hatred enduring and deep:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

For those escaping places of oppression

reliant on emergency evacuations from

airports surrounded by hostile forces:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

And for those who cannot seek safety

and who will remain in an uncertain world

facing the unknown of future restrictions:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

And for those whom we know

yearning for healing

or in need of simple understanding and care:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

For those known to us

overwhelmed by the closeness of their walls

in this lockdown

yearning for human contact:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

For any in our community

anxious for their children and family members

those close contacts who have been to locations of interest

and wondering about their health:

we pray with an active hope.

We pray in love.

For family and friends

caught by lockdown restrictions unable to get home

surrounded by COVID outbreaks in Fiji and Australia

knowing the uncertainty of what the morrow may bring:

we pray with an active hope.
We pray in love.

Mother and Father of lights,

with whom there is no shadow,

we bring these and other prayers of the heart.

For you are the source of our hope

and you are the wellspring of our love.

Use us in the remaking of your world.

We pray with and active hope.

We pray in love.

Amen
