Service for Trinity Sunday 7 June 2020 - Auckland Methodist Central Parish

This is a "Virtual Order of Service".  At the end of each page, click Next to proceed to the next section:

You are invited to follow this "service" in your own time. You may wish to experience everything in the order it is presented, or take parts of it as suits you. Sound and video clips are embedded: Click on the player to listen/watch. Sing along if you wish!

Back to Church?

This the last full Virtual Service, as gatherings resume in Pitt St Church from 14 June, and depending on COVID-19 Alert Level, "normal" services will start from as soon as 21 June. We hope to keep some online content going for the next few weeks but this relies heavily on volunteers and there will probably be a delay of several days after the Sunday morning service.

Welcome - Rev. Ian Faulkner

Prelude

Prelude on "O ver Kedron Jesus Træder" (1914) - Peter Lindeman.

The hymn tune (from which this piece is derived) was written by the composer's father for a Norwegian post-Easter song - you may read an English translation of the words here.

Our call to worship - Psalm 8

 Read by Sonia Faulkner

O Lord, our God, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Your voice calls the seas to roar and the winds to howl.
You have set your glory above the heavens.
The moon and stars sing your praises.
What are human beings that you are mindful of us?
Who are we that you care for us?
Yet you have made us a little lower than the angels.
You have crowned us with glory and honour.
O Lord, our God, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
