Good Friday - 10 April 2020 - Pitt St Church
This is a "Virtual Order of Service". At the end of each page, click Next to proceed to the next section:
Kia ora mai koutou katoa; Talofa lava; Malo e lelei; Noa’ia e mauri; Ni sa bula vinaka.
Greetings to everyone on this most solemn day in the Christian Calendar.
This service follows a very traditional pattern: Largely readings to remind us of how the Gospel writer Matthew recalls the events of the days before the crucifixion and the final day itself; with some hymns, a poem and an affirmation of faith.
You are invited to read this story in your own time. It could be divided into sections or taken as a whole.
The music to the hymns is embedded. Click on the link to hear the music. Sing along if you wish.
Introit
Lascia ch'io pianga (Let me weep), from Rinaldo, by G.F. Handel.
