Prayer of confession (based on Exodus 14 and 15; and Romans 14)
Loving God,
when we have inflicted injuries upon others, forgive us;
when we have laughed and sung as our enemies faced calamity, pardon us;
when we have belittled the convictions of others through word or deed,
restore us through your grace.
Reclaim us, God of grace, that as we face the trials of life,
we may walk on the dry land of your promised hope and your loving goodness:
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
