Welcome and call to worship - Norman Brookes

Kia ora and welcome everyone to our time of worship on the first Sunday of Spring.   I may be three score years and ten but I’m a learner when it come to this medium.   Hopefully together we may by God’s grace discover a few moments of inspiration.

Call to worship:

It's springtime, a time when green leaves appear,
A time when buds turn into blossoms,
A time when lambs are born,
A time to leave behind the winter of our discontent,
A time to grasp hold of hope,
A time to thank God, for “Yes” there is light at the end of the tunnel,
The lockdowns will end, the virus will be defeated,
And “Yes” Christ will lead us on.     Amen

Hymn - Christ is the world’s light, he and no other

Christ is the world’s light, he and no other
Born in our darkness he became our brother.
If we have seen him, we have seen the Father:
Glory to God on high.

Christ is the world’s peace, he and no other;
No man can serve him and despise his brother.
Who else unites us, one in God the Father?
Glory to God on high.

Christ is the world’s life, he and no other;
Sold once for silver, murdered here, or brother –
He, who redeems us, reigns with God the Father:
Glory to God on high.

Give God the glory, God and no other;
Give God the glory, Spirit, Son and Father;
Give God the glory, God in man my brother:
Glory to God on high.
