Prayer
Loving God, in the midst of the myriad voices that surround us,
Voices that so often confuse us – we come to offer our gratitude for all
the good gifts that have come our way.
We thank you for the beauty of this planet that is our home.
We thank you for the gift of life.
We thank you for the ability to explore and create.
We thank you for the gift of thought and reason.
Today we thank you especially for all the love that has come our way.
The love of parents and families, especially remembering fathers on this Fathers’ Day.
The love of friends and neighbours.
The love of strangers who have touched our lives.
The love of Jesus Christ – who has lived in our midst, knows our lives, offers us compassion, healing and wholeness.
We have been truly blest.
Forgive us for those times when we have not passed on those blessings to others. Forgive us for the times when we have just thought about ourselves. Forgive us for when we have turned our backs on your love.
Lord, forgive us and renew us. This we ask in Jesus name who taught us to pray saying:
Our Father in heaven
hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread,
Forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial,
And deliver us from evil,
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
Now and for ever. Amen
