Prayer of Approach

We have sometimes failed in our responsibilities.

We have failed to love ourselves and others and you as we should.
Our fear, our tiredness, our lack of confidence, our greed or our jealousy get in the way and we fall short of your calling.
We are sorry and long for new life and a fresh start.

In the silence, we remember the failings we want to lay before God and be freed from.

You are the God of freedom and life.

Your forgiving hand constantly reaches out to those who want to change.

Let us hear the word of grace:
Our sins are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
holy be your name.

Your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.

Do not put us to the test,
but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power and the glory
are yours now and for ever.

Amen, amen, amen, amen;
amen, amen, amen, amen.
